The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these.As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta

Job Description

Job Title:Regional Services Administrator (RSA) Behavioral Health – Region 5 (Savannah, GA)

Job Summary
Under broad supervision of the Deputy Division Director of Behavioral Health, the person in this position is responsible for managing and overseeing a system of community-based Behavioral Health services for the region. This position is located in Savannah, GA (Region 5).

  • Ensuring accountable and effective continuum of care to support Georgians with behavioral health challenges, and intellectual and developmental disabilities in a dynamic health care environment
  • Monitoring of community program operations to ensure optimal functioning in key areas including but not limited to utilization of services, coordination of care, progress toward identified program outcomes, and adherence to regulatory guidance.
  • Closely follows and ensures implementation of all Department regulations, directives, and polices.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, self-directed, results-oriented, and excellent at problem solving
  • Must have demonstrated effectiveness with written and oral communications and outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with high performing, cross functional teams and sound organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
  • Responsible for supervision of regional office staff members performance of various duties including assisting hospitals, providers, Beacon, GCAL, the ASO, and consumers in implementation of person-center community transition plan; in addition to, resolving consumer and other constituent complaints.
  • Provides support and assistance to regional advisory councils and assisting in the development of annual plans that identifies and prioritizes the needs in the region
  • Utilizes data to monitor and evaluate DBHDD services provided in the region works closely with MH, DD, and AD Executives Directors and other state office staff to ensure continuity of information and message to local providers and communities.
  • Ensures that regional staff deliver excellent customer service to consumers, family members, providers, state officials, agencies stakeholders and other community members with interest in DBHDD services
  • Ensures that Services brokered by DBHDD are implemented and provided according to design “Easy access to high-quality care that leads to a life of recovery and independence for the people we serve”

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years’ experience performing management responsibilities in a health care services environment OR master’s degree in a related field and two years’ experience performing management responsibilities in a health care services environment OR Doctorate degree in a related field and one year experience performing management responsibilities in a health care services environment OR two years at the lower level or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the qualifications above, preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Licensed as a LMSW, LCSW, APC, LPC and/or master’s degree in a related field
  • Previous collaboration with a clinical team: psychologists, social workers, counselors, physicians, therapists, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress
  • Knowledgeable of the management, planning and design of effective community-based programs for individuals with behavioral health and co-occurring issues
  • Experience working with Behavioral Health individuals in the community.

This position is located in the DBHDD Region 5 Field Office in Savannah, Georgia. DBHDD Region 5 service individual residing in the following counties: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Bleckley, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Dodge, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Jeff Davis, Johnson, Laurens, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Montgomery, Pierce, Pulaski, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen, Ware, Wayne, Wheeler, and Wilcox.

Doctorate degree in a related filed from an accredited college or university AND Three years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Two years of experience at the lower level Mgr 3, Hlth Care (HCM012) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
