I’ve always felt a connection to Valentine’s Day since by birthday is two days before. I would always get heart-shaped desserts and love-themed cards from friends since that is what the stores sold around that time. My favorite of course were the Valentines themed plushies with cute animals holding hearts with cute sayings like “Be Mine.” As I’ve gotten more involved in the crochet and especially amigurumi world, I have discovered the cuteness of Sanrio characters. If you don’t know what Sanrio is, it is a Japanese company that produces merchandise based on characters they create. It focuses on everything “kawaii” which means cute in Japanese. Since I love kawaii characters, it was only a matter of time for me to make a Hello Kitty plush! This one is Valentine’s Day themed with her colors and holding a heart but feel free to use any colors you would like.
For this pattern, I used Premier Parfait Chunky yarn (which is my favorite yarn) for a soft pastel look.Click here to get Premier yarn for this project. If you enjoy this pattern, pleasegive me a follow on social mediaand let me know what other free patterns you would love to see! There are many excellent YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner! Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.
