Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (2025)

Websites you’ve visited are recorded in your browsing history. You can check or delete your browsing history, and find related searches in Chrome. You can also resume browsing sessions on other devices if you’re signed in and have your history synced to your Google Account.

When you delete your browsing history in Chrome, it’s also deleted on your devices where you’re signed in to Chrome and have your history synced to your Google Account.

Tip: Separately, you can also delete your Google search history from your account.

Understand and manage your Chrome history

What your History lists

Your History lists the pages you've visited on Chrome in the last 90 days. It doesn't store:

  • Chrome pages like chrome://settings
  • Pages you’ve visited while you browse privately in Incognito mode
  • Deleted pages from your browsing history

Tip: If you’re signed in to Chrome and sync your history, then your History also shows pages you’ve visited on your other devices.

Find your history

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (1).
  2. At the top right, tap More Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (2) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (3) History.
    • If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap History Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (4).
  3. To visit a site, tap the entry.
    • To open the site in a new tab, touch and hold the entry. At the top right, tap More Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (5) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (6) Open in new tab.
    • To copy the site, touch and hold the entry. At the top right, tap More Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (7) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (8) Copy link.

Tip: If you don’t want Chrome to save your browsing history, you can browse in private with Incognito mode.

Delete items from your Chrome history

Delete your history and browsing data

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (9).
  2. At the top right, tap More Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (10) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (11) Delete browsing data.
  3. Next to "Time range:"
    • To delete a portion of your history, select the dates.
    • To delete everything, tap All time.
  4. Check the box next to "Browsing history."
  5. Uncheck any other data you don't want to delete.
  6. Tap Delete data.

Delete an itemfrom your history

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (12).
  2. At the top right, tap More Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (13) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (14) History.
    • If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar before you tap History Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (15).
  3. Find the entry you want to delete.
  4. To the right, tap Remove Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (16).

To delete multiple items:

  1. Touch and hold an entry until you find a checkmark next to it.
  2. Select other sites you want to delete.
  3. At the top right, tap Remove Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (17).

Tips:

  • To search for something specific, at the top right, tap Search Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (18).
  • You can remove an item from a specific site’s history while on that site:
    • Tap Page info Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (19) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (20) Last visited Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (21) Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (22) Remove Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (23).

Remove a shortcut image from New Tab page

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Check or delete your Chrome browsing history - Android (24).
  2. Open a new tab.
  3. Touch and hold the image you want to remove.
  4. Tap Remove.
