Ahh, I love when Gunner is extra sneaky and evil! If only the poor generals had known that they weren’t even close to being in the top two villains of this story.

I like the way it was presented, going into that I bought into the idea that he was a bumbling idiot who brought what happened upon himself.
In reality Gunner exploited a blind spot by creating a weakness in the form of those he trusted most, both effective, brutal and cruel. It’s SO Gunner.

I kinda hate that word “coup”. I know how it’s supposed to be pronounced but I always instinctively pronounce the “p” and that just makes sentences sound extra silly. Sorry Gunner, I don’t mean to make your sentence sound silly.

Okay, so what’s the deal with Gunner delivering the entire needless expose`?
I suppose he wants them to conform to licking his boot or something as his do-bidders or he would’ve killed them already. Then again, what more use has he of them anyway?
Nor do I see the motive/gain he had from assassinating puppet-president. The dufus would’ve done anything he’s told and believe anything he’s told until he’s served his purpose.

Really? I think it’s so simple! He wanted the GEF decapitated and he had them do it for him. It’s much simpler than some complicated takeover plot, and his machinations ran in the background throughout the entire series!
Then he had them come to him so he could finish the job. He’s just gloating because he’s proud and he likes to watch people suffer.
With the GEF in disarray, Gunner and the psychic army will have a much easier time going about on their killing business.
It’s not Gunner’s first plan, it’s the contingency plan. The first plan was of course to get one of the psychic ships and just kill all humans the easy way.

It’s the same design as his tattoo, it just happens to look like a 2.
Zap and Gunner’s big flashback is coming up at the start of the final chapter and will explain everything about them, but Gunner was very loyal to pre-mind-wipe Zap.

Wow. I’m surprised nobody said anything about Naveed questioning her own motivations now. She’s gotta be thinking, “Did I really want to do all those things he asked me to do? Do I really want to help him with his plan? Do I really even love him?”
I mean, she’s standing right there listening, and she’s no dummy. The only explanation I can think of is that Gunner isn’t letting her have doubts.
